2008 witnesses the return of the Craig y Nos Antiques Fair near Abercrave on 5th May. This event was successfully revived by Derwen Fairs four years ago.
The castle provides the perfect venue for antique fairs. The castle once played host to the royalty of Europe. Adelina Patti the famous opera singer once owned Craig y Nos castle and for over 25 years performed on her very own stage, for Queen Victoria.
Dealers come from both sides of the border, displaying the finest Welsh china, early Chinese porcelain and quality furniture.
The fair has a fine balance of fine silver, good quality jewellery, maps, topographic prints, postcards, Persian carpets, militaria and Victorian textiles, including some superb Welsh quilts!
Craig Y Nos Castle nestles in the valley between Abercrave and Pen y Cae, just a 20 minute drive from the town of Brecon, set in the heart of the Brecon National Park. Visitors to this fair will be able to relax and enjoy the stunning surroundings.
The fair can be reached by travelling north of Swansea, following the A4067 and the brown signs for Dan yr Ogaf Caves.
The caves are just 2 minutes away from the castle.
